Case Study : Sundance
Spas
Disconnect:
Sundance offers some of the best built spas in the world, but their
brand awareness was low and purchase barriers kept sales at an
unacceptable level.
Link: Since
Sundance
sells the
whirlpool experience, their marketing communications needed to
accurately portray this experience. We developed an interactive CD-ROM
that let the viewer enjoy the benefits of hot tubs—health, relaxation
and enjoyment—without ever getting wet. The full product line,
including key features, was highlighted to help consumers select the
best spa for them. The CDs were initially used as in-store
takeaways.
Solution: To
further
encourage a
purchase decision, we built in Web-enabled special offers. Sundance
was
so pleased with the results that they developed a modified version of
the CD-ROM to launch their direct mail campaign.

Why keep the excitement trapped inside the
CD-ROM when packaging can be part of the
punch! Allow
the creativeness to leak out and present itself both visually
and
physically forging an experience on the outside as well
as inside. The direct mail
applicationbelow was
ingenious in its use of space by connecting
with and
marketing to the prospect. Explore in detail how this
extraordinary piece opened the eyes of its
recepients.
Our goal was to create a watery illusion so real
that
it would
encourage the customer to feel it for themselves. We
literally
injected the spa into the packaging and created an
appealing
presentation. Aqua blue liquid gel was packed into the vinyl
sleeve and displaced when pressed giving the illusion
that the disk was floating in
water. Customers couldn't
resist and eagerly invited themselves to give it a "hands-on"
approach. Once the package was in their grasp
they were immediately
interested in what other creative features would be found inside the
interactive CD-ROM. It was a captivating preview of the virtual
experience forthcoming.
